Trying to locate parents of Samuel Elliott born between 1770-1780 in Virginia and died between 1845-1846 in Harrison County, Indiana. He married Mary Polly Kington in Nelson County, Kentucky on 24 February 1799. Mary was born in 1782 in Maryland and died after 1852 in Harrison County, Indiana. I have a copy of Samuel's will listing the following children: Herod, Richard, Gasoway, Lorenzo D. , Elizabeth, James, Gaylon, Mahala, Mildred and John Votan Elliott.
Samuel was a farmer but may have also been a circuit rider for the church.

Hello. I was just researching the Elliott family in early Harrison county Indiana. In an 1813 tax list are Thomas, Susanna, Samuel and James Ellett listed. In an 1810 census of Harrison County, IN (harrison and exeter twps.) Samuel Elliott is listed in Harrison Township Males: 1 (0-9) 1 (26-45) Females: 1 (0-9) 1 (16-25). Per ancestry.com my Thomas Elliott is son of John and Susannah Claver Elliott. I know it's only a few bits, but could lead to something.
