My ancestor, James Townsend, came to Indiana in 1830 and laid out of the town of Putnamville. He was born in 1794 in Maryland and was married to Catherine Davis, both of Worcester County, Maryland. I really do not know much more about his time in Indiana and was wondering if anyone in your society has any information about him. I also have information that he was buried at Williamstown Cemetery, Clay County, Indiana . He died in 1852. I would love to know more about him.
