Searching for James A. Smith born 1856 died 1926. I was told he was born in Indiana or Georgia. Lived in Marion County, Indiana in 1885-1990 as he was working on the RR and he gave his children to the Guardians Home in 1898. The children were; James Marion, Shalen Herbert, Thomas Lanley and Marie Melissa Smith. Marie is my mother. I would like to find out something about him so I can see where my ancestors came from. This is all the information I have and have been working for 20 years searching.
