IGS Seeks Editor for Quarterly

The Indiana Genealogical Society is seeking candidates to take over as editor of the society's quarterly publication, Indiana Genealogist. It is published 4 times a year, and there is also a separate index, which is published annually. The quarterly is published exclusively online.

Responsibilities include:
--receipt of submissions
--solicitation of submissions as needed
--selecting which submissions to include in each issue
--copyediting
--page layout
--creating and editing PDF files of each issue
--creation of the annual index
--sending PDF files to the webmaster for publication in the Members Only area.

Experience using page layout software (Microsoft Publisher, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Page Maker or something similar); familiarity with generating and editing PDFs; familarity with the subjects of Indiana genealogy and local history are required.

The editor is paid $500 per issue and $500 for the annual index. Expenses (such as the purchase of necessary software) will be reimbursed.
