The Genealogy Center at the Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne will hold a program, "Cataloging 3-D Items & Heirlooms," on Tuesday, August 17 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm as part of its Genealogy @ Night series. As genealogists, we organize our paper files, but who will know when we are gone that the sugar bowl in the cupboard belonged to Great Grandma Mattie, or which child made the clay handprint in kindergarten? And why did we keep that particular wine cork? This program will discuss ways of recording information about three-dimensional objects so that future generations can enjoy not just the objects, but the history and special stories that go along with them.
