Query: STALEY/MAJORS of Hendricks County

Looking for information on the death of John MAJORS b. abt 1832 in KY, and Minerve (STALEY) MAJORS b. about 1833 in IN. They had 8 children with the youngest being William Peter MAJORS b. 14 Oct 1871. In the 1870 Census they were living in Franklin, Hendricks, IN. John or Minerve were not in the 1880 census, I was told they could of died in a flu epidemic. William might have been farmed out to relatives or families in Clay, Hendricks, IN

  1. Minerve should be spelled Minerva. William Peter was not the youngest child of John and Minerva. Lafayette MAJORS was, and he was born 14 Oct 1871. William Peter Majors was the fifth of eight children born to John and Minerva. I also have checked the Hendricks County site, on USGenWeb. In the 1880 Clay, Hendricks, Indiana US Census, William Peter was living with a first cousin, one time removed by the name of Mary (WEST) PATTERSON and her husband Enos PATTERSON.
