IGS Thanks Clinton County Genealogical Society for War of 1812 Donation

The Indiana Genealogical Society thanks the Clinton County Genealogical Society in Frankfort, Indiana for their $100 donation to our War of 1812 $10,000 Matching Challenge. Coupled with IGS' match and Ancestry.com's match, their donation means 800 more pages of pension files will be digitized! They are the latest Indiana organization to make a donation, joining groups from Allen County, Elkhart County, Howard County, Madison County, Marion County, St. Joseph County, Tippecanoe County and Vigo County, as well as the Society of the War of 1812 in the State of Indiana.

In this challenge - which is in support of the Federation of Genealogical Societies' effort to digitize the War of 1812 pension files at the National Archives and make them available online for free - the Indiana Genealogical Society will MATCH any donation made before August 31, 2011 (up to the first $10,000).

Because Ancestry.com is matching what IGS contributes to FGS, your money will actually be QUADRUPLED by the time it reaches FGS - a $25 donation to IGS will end up as $100 when received by FGS. We have had over 160 donors so far, and thanks to their generosity, we are close to 70% of our goal!

Any amount you can give will help - even a $5 donation means 40 more pages will be digitized.

To contribute, you can either donate online, or mail your check (made payable to Indiana Genealogical Society, with "War of 1812" in the memo line) to:
