IGS Adds Posey County African-American Database

The Indiana Genealogical Society has added another database to the African-American Records section of Members Only:

Posey County
--Register of Negroes in Posey County, Indiana (1853-1855)--contains digital files of a negro register for the county, which recorded names, ages and birthplaces.

This database was donated by Dawne Slater-Putt, CG. It is free to the public--no member login is required in order to view it.

The Indiana Genealogical Society has 319 databases in the Members Only area, covering 70 Indiana counties. More databases will be added over time.
