Query: LANGSTON of Lake County

I am trying to find the death record and burial information for my grandfather, Robert Gardner Langston, who died in August 1943 at his summer home in Crown Point, Lake County, Indiana. I would also like to find out when he bought/rented/leased the property where he died. The family immigrated from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England, in the late 1880's or early 1890's to Chicago, Illinois. They resided in the River Forest district of Chicago on the 1900 census. In the 1910 census there was no record of them there, and by that time my father was in Canada and his sister was probably married and living in Missouri. I think my grandfather Robert had split from his wife by that time(my grandmother going to live with her daughter) and that he had moved to Crown Point. Does anyone have access to the 1910 census that can check for him in Lake County?

Query: KIESEL/KEISELL/BEYER of Gibson County

I am interesting in finding out more about my Kiesel roots. Paul Keisell (born 1818 in Bavaria/Prussia) is on the 1850 and 1880 censuses in Johnson Township, Gibson County, Indiana. He married Margaret Beyer on 10 July 1849 in Gibson County and they had children:

--Madis (?) born about 1850 in Indiana
--Michael born about 1853 in Indiana and died before 1900 in Idaho (he had a wife Kate who also died, leaving their son Peter an orphan around the age of 8 who was raised by their adult daughter Margaret)
--John born about 1855 in Indiana (my great-great-grandfather)
--Paul born about 1857 in Indiana
--Margaret born about 1867 in Indiana
--Caspar born about 1868 in Indiana
--Matilda born about 1872 in Indiana

The 1880 census entry shows they have a adopted a John Vertrees born 1876 and that both of his parents were born in Indiana. Neither Paul nor Margaret show up in the 1900 census, nor do their children Madis, Michael, Paul or Caspar. John and Michael both spelled their last name as Kiesel so I am not sure if their father Paul's spelling of the last name is a typo or the boys just changed it. Any help would be appreciated.

Query: STRONG of LaPorte County

I am looking for information on the death date of Joel R. Strong, as well as the name of his parents. He was last seen in the 1870 census for LaPorte County, Indiana, along with wife Sarah and children Charles, Alfretta, Effie and Emma. The 1880 census for LaPorte County lists Sarah as the head of household and widowed and living with her daughters in Westville. I am also looking for Sarah's death date--she was last seen in the 1900 census for LaPorte County living with Frank Strong, who is listed as something other than a direct relative. Her son Charles died in Michigan and his obituary does not list her as living.

Query: SCHMIDT of Marion County

My wife's great-great-grandparents, Frederick and Maria Elizabeth Schmidt, lived in Indianapolis from 1852 until their deaths in 1904 and 1872 respectively. They had 10 children born there, including William H. Schmidt who was the Marion County Treasurer until the time of his death in 1904. I know they came to New York around late 1840s from Bavaria and Wurttemberg and I would like to try and trace back where exactly in Germany they came from.
