Query: CRAIG Civil War Records

I have a relative who was a Civil War vet, and I was wondering how do I order his information:

  1. Joanne, I can find a John W. Craig in the 26th and 85th Indiana Infantry and the 11th Cavalry. the Johns in the 26th and 11th have pension files.
    Where did you get the 38th Infantry reference?

  2. Thanks, but our John W. Craig, was in the 38th Infantry, IN.

    I am looking for him, John W. Craig, in Wabash CO, ILL. I know he died 1882, and is buried with his wife, Permelia, and infant son. I know he's originally from Greene Co, IN....his parents' Temple & Caroline Craig..

  3. I'm looking for the relatives of
    John W. Craig & Permelia (COMBS) Craig, children, Samuel Groves, Mary Caroline, Edward E. and infant son Craig.

    Infant son Craig, died 1881, John W. Craig, died Wabash, ILL, 1882 and wife Permelia Craig, died 1888, all three buried Coffee Cemetery, Wabash, IL

    Daughter, Mary Caroline Craig, age 19 yrs, died, 1893, is buried Westly Cemetery, Harrison Co, IN, in same row as step-grandfather, John Arnold.

    Edward E. Craig, died Dec 1944, Missouri, had two children, Evelyn and John. Wife Anna Ingelsbe, died at a young age.

    STILL looking for Samuel Groves Craig, born May 1971, Greene Co IN. Was last living in Baldwin Park, CA, in Edwards obit, dated Dec 1944.
