Allen County Public Library To Discuss Genealogy Apps

The Genealogy Center of the Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne will hold a free class, "Apps & Programs for Genealogy," on Wednesday, February 12 at 2:30 pm in the library's Meeting Room C. This class (which is the last WinterTech class of the season) will highlight the many types of applications for smartphones and tablets – some also for computers – that can be used for genealogical purposes. This class will be an overview, showing just a few examples of each type of application, although information will be provided on how and where to find many more. Some examples that will be featured are: to-do lists, notes applications, journal applications, calendars, Siri and Google Voice, maps, photo applications and more.

To register, phone (260) 421-1225 or e-mail Genealogy@ACPL.Info. For more information, see the WinterTech brochure (
