Southern Indiana Genealogical Society To Discuss Civil War

The Southern Indiana Genealogical Society will meet on Thursday, March 3 at 7 pm in the Strassweg Auditorium of the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library. Representatives of two Civil War lineage societies will present a program, "Our Civil War Heritage: Sons and Daughters of Union Veterans." Priscilla Fikes, President General of the National Society Daughters of the Union, and Phil McClure, Camp Commander of the John B. Anderson Camp of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, will outline their organizations’ backgrounds, goals and projects, membership requirements, and upcoming events for the Civil War Sesquicentennial.

The meeting is free and open to the public.
