Looking for information Andrew Jackson Laurel Cole Sutton was by all accounts born October 16, 1824 in Jefferson County. According to so-far unsubstantiated records, he was the son of David Sutton and "Mercy Cole". This David Sutton was supposedly born 4 March 1802 in Ohio and died 1871 Center Twp, Rush County, IN. He is listed in marriage records as having been married to Elizabeth Shields, No 1821, Fayette County IN. Meanwhile, there is a "Mercy A Sutton" buried in the Methodist Graveyard, Dupont, Jefferson County, and her grave inscription reads "Consort of D. Sutton".
Can anyone suggest any resources for substantiating Andrew JLC Sutton's parentage?

David Sutton father of Andrew Jackson Laurel Case Sutton was born

Rush county, Indiana David Sutton. I have in my possession the
correct older David Sutton's pension, and his father Benjamin's
pension. Also A.J.L.C Sutton's daughter Marrietta's death/obituary
gave her birth as Lancaster, Jefferson, Indiana for her birth place, while David was still there also. I have a deep box of documentation on these Suttons from 50 years of research on them
