Query: ROGERS of Blackford County

.My two siblings and I are trying to locate information regarding the burial location of our grandmother who died in Blackford County , Indiana , in 1922.   My brother obtained a copy of the death certificate, so we know that she is buried somewhere in Montpelier (according to the DC).  However, the cemetery name listed is “ Montpelier Cemetery ”, which we are unable to locate.

The death certificate indicates that the undertaker who took care of my grandmother’s remains was J. Will Baxter.
Our grandmother died in 1922.  The particulars of the information contained on the death certificate are as follows:
Name:  Minnie L. ROGERS
Date of birth:    Aug 8, 1889
Date of death:   Feb 11, 1922
Place of death:  414 W. Henderson St . , Montpelier , Indiana .
County of Blackford
Township of Harrison
Name of husband:         Grant J. Rogers
Name of father:             W. H. Allen                  Birthplace:        N.C.
Mother’s maiden name: Mary Finney                 Birthplace:        Indiana
Date of burial:               Feb 14, 1922
Place of burial:              Montpelier , Indiana
Undertaker:                  W. Wells Baxter
Address:                       Hartford City , Indiana
Embalmer’s License:     1328

Through correspondence with the Indiana State Library, my brother has also obtained copies of the mortuary records from the book entitled, “Index to J. Will Baxter Mortuary Records, Hartford City , Indiana . Jan. 8, 1906--June 26, 1928”.   Information contained on page 153 of the book mentions the following:
“ROGERS, MINNIE L.
               fu. [date of funeral] Feb. 14, 1922 -- p.d. [place of death] 414 W. Henderson St. --ser. [service] Nazarene Ch. --d. [date of death] Feb. 11 -- m.s. [marital status] m -- b.d. [date of birth] Aug. 8, 1889 -- age 32 yrs. 6 mos. 3 days -- f. [father] W.H. Allen -- b.p. [birthplace] N.C. -- m. [mother] Mary Finney -- b.p. Ind. -- res. [residence] Montpelier -- cem. [cemetery where buried] Montpelier ”

This additional information shows that the funeral service was held at the Nazarene Church .   It states that the cemetery where buried is “ Montpelier ”.  However, we are unable to locate a cemetery in Montpelier , Indiana with that name.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Gene Rogers
