IGS Appoints Benton County and Howard County Genealogists

At its May 5 board meeting, the Indiana Genealogical Society appointed 2 more Indiana County Genealogists:

Janet M. Kult of Boswell is the Indiana County Genealogist for Benton County. Janet has been doing genealogy since 1983. She volunteers with the Benton County Historical Society, indexing vital records and adding information to the historical society’s collection. She knows all her hard work will help future family historians.

Cynthia L. Stover of Kokomo is the Indiana County Genealogist for Howard County. Cynthia is 2nd Vice-President of the Howard County Historical Society and has been doing genealogy for over twenty years. She has also been a member of the General James Cox Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), and volunteers on that organization's Genealogist Committee and the Genealogical Records Committee.

About ICG
Indiana County Genealogist (ICG) is a program of the Indiana Genealogical Society. Its goal is to appoint qualified individuals to represent each of the 92 counties in Indiana. The ICG promotes genealogical and historical research and education within the county, is familiar with the genealogical records and repositories in the county, is aware of record retention policies and issues and acts as a resource person for those doing research in the county.
