Board for Certification of Genealogists Issues Genealogy Standards Manual

The Board for Certification of Genealogists has issued a new manual, Genealogy Standards, in honor of its 50th anniversary. The 100-page manual discusses the best practices in research and how to assemble accurate family histories. Subjects covered include:

  • documenting
  • researching - including planning, collecting, and reasoning from evidence
  • writing - including proofs, assembly, and special products
  • teaching and lecturing
  • continuing education
