Cemetery Restoration Project in Boone County
The Boone County Genealogical Society has begun a project to restore the Old Cemetery in Thorntown, Indiana. The cemetery dates back to 1830 and was used for burials until 1972. Volunteers are sought to help with the restoration project--volunteers will be trained in the proper ways to clean the headstones and reset fallen markers. For more information, please contact Volunteer Coordinator Larry Truitt--e-mail larry@truitt.com or phone (765) 436-7151.
