Looking for information on
William J. McBurney, born 1825. He arrived in New York in 1854 from Scotland on the ship Western Empire. Married in 1855
to Eliza; first child Elizabeth Jane, born in Ohio 1856.
He settled in Crawford County,
Indiana, served in the Civil War; he was a farmer and possibly a peddler. He
died May 2, 1881.
Trying to make the connection to
his homeland in Scotland and find his burial site in Indiana. He isn't buried
with his wife.
