The Indiana Genealogical Society has added 3 databases about a Marshall County high school to the County Records section of our Members Only area:
--Students of Plymouth High School, Marshall County, Indiana (1938)
--Students of Plymouth High School, Marshall County, Indiana (1939)
--Teachers of Plymouth High School, Marshall County, Indiana (1939)
These are premium databases, accessible only to IGS members.
The Indiana Genealogical Society now has 1,114 databases in the Members Only area. Each of Indiana's 92 counties has at least 4 databases.
I think it is a shame that you have to be a "member" to see these databases. Some of us do not have the extra money to be members. All of this information would be free if people had the time and money to travel to the places where they are located. Just sayin!
ReplyDeleteYou definitely have the right to make choices about how to spend your money. For the Indiana Genealogical Society, we do have over 200 databases that are free to the public. We also have continuing costs for maintaining those databases online. And by collecting membership dues, we are able to make some data freely available that is otherwise very expensive to maintain, like the Hendricks County probate records project. Collecting membership dues also enables us to give genealogy grants to support the efforts of Indiana organizations, and to give scholarships to Indiana library staff to further their genealogy education so they can better serve the public.
