Names Carved on Cave Rock in Washington County, Indiana (1814)
Michele Dutcher (mdutcher@aph.org) recently discovered the names Fern Voyles and Alva Watts with the year 1814 carved on a rock at Cave River Valley near Salem, Washington County, Indiana. The carving is pictured below.
The year 1814 would place it during the times of Indiana Territory, before Indiana became a state in 1816.
