The Society of Indiana Archivists will hold their spring workshop on Friday, April 4 from 1 to 4 pm at the Indiana State Library in Indianapolis. Amanda Starkel will present a session, "Wikipedia for Archivists," about how to use Wikipedia to improve the visibility of your archival collections. The workshop will cover the basics of Wikipedia editing, policy, and licensing, preparing you to edit articles, upload images, and navigate the Wikipedia community. You are encouraged to bring your laptop or tablet computer with you, as this session will involve hands-on instruction. If needed, there will also be a limited number of loaner laptops available.
For Indiana librarians, the workshop is eligible for 3 Technology LEUs, and also 2 Archival Recertification Credits (ARC) from the Academy of Certified Archivists. Registration is $15 for Society of Indiana Archivists members, $20 for non-members. The deadline to register is Friday, March 28.
