The Indiana Genealogical Society has added another database to the Members Only area of its website:
Miscellaneous Records
--Deaths in Indiana (pre-1882)
This database was submitted by Dawne Slater-Putt, CG. It is a compilation of deaths found in secondary sources (such as biographical entries in county histories and genealogical periodicals), to help researchers bridge the gap before 1882, when Indiana started requiring the recording of deaths.
The database is free to the public--no member login is required in order to view it.
The Indiana Genealogical Society has 295 databases in the Members Only area, covering 64 Indiana counties. More databases will be added over time.
