Plainfield Public Library is sponsoring a walking tour of Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis on Tuesday, June 24 at 7 pm. Crown Hill is the 3rd largest cemetery in the country and in this 90-minute tour led by Tom Davis, you will visit the graves of some of the many famous and interesting people who are buried there, including Hoosier poet James Whitcomb Riley. You'll also have a spectacular view of the city's skyline near sunset.
This tour is free but participants must be age 12 or older, and pre-registration is required - register online at Plainfield library's events calendar, or contact the library's Indiana Room - phone (317) 839-6602 extension 2114. NOTE: The tour lasts 90 minutes and covers approximately 1 mile over uneven ground, so comfortable shoes, bottled water and insect repellant are recommended.
