The Indiana Genealogical Society has added the June 2012 issue of Indiana Genealogist, the society's quarterly publication, to the Members Only area. IGS members can login to the IGS Records section to download their copy.
This issue includes:
--a feature article by James R. Miller on the use of postcards and envelopes to help with gaps in World War I records
--an "IN-GENious" column by Ron Darrah on the records of those who served in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) during the Great Depression
--a Jasper County delinquent tax list, transcribed by Sue Caldwell
--an update by Randi Richardson on the condition of Burton Cemetery in Owen County
--a Brown County probate order book index, submitted by Diana Biddle
--a list of unclaimed Revolutionary War pensions in Dearborn County, submitted by Tina Lyons
--newspaper notices from Blackford County and Fountain County, transcribed by Rachel Popma
As in every issue, there are also brief items from every region of the state.
The issue is available for download in its regular size, as well as in a compressed version which downloads faster on slower Internet connections.
The quarterly is a premium database, accessible only to IGS members.
