The Indiana Genealogical Society will hold a "Saturday work session" on Saturday, October 15 from 9:30 am to 4 pm at the Plainfield Public Library in Hendricks County for our project to preserve and digitize Hendricks County probate records. The public is welcome to drop by at any time during the day to help unfold the papers and organize them into folders.
Volunteers have worked on almost 2,000 records since this project began in 2009, and among the fascinating items that have been discovered is a receipt from author Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.'s great-grandfather.
Please register online through the library's Events Calendar, or contact the library's Indiana Room - phone (317) 838-3800.
