At the 2010 conference, the Indiana Genealogical Society announced that the 2009 recipient of the Elaine Spires Smith Family History Writing Award was Dawne Slater-Putt for her article, "Who Was Not Jessie's Father?". The article, which examined the potential fathers of Jessie Fordyce of Miami County, was published in the June 2009 issue of Indiana Genealogist. Click here to read a PDF of the article.
The Elaine Spires Smith Family History Writing Award includes $500. Submissions must be sent before December 31st.
