I believe that it is possible that the John Preston in Monroe County, Indiana, is your ancestor. I have checked Monroe County will and probate records and know that the information you seek is not there. <br /><br />I think the answer is probably in deed records and/or tax records. In 1842 tax records, there were seven men with the surname Young that were taxed in Benton Twp; there was also a James Henry, the only Henry living in Monroe county, taxed in Van Buren Twp.<br /><br />The Monroe County Historical Society can assist you with your research. Their charges are quite reasonable, only $10/hour.
