My grandfather, William Harrison Green, was born in or around Posey County, Indiana in 1858. His father was Richmond F. Green and his mother was Eliza Green, both from Illinois. I am looking for my grandfather's exact date of birth, and more information about where in Illinois his parents were from.

My great-great-grandfather's name was also William Harrison Green-married Mattie Wright. His parents were William Green and Amanda Culley. He was a fireman and teamster in Mt Vernon,Posey co,IN. They were also from Il.

They were from White and Hamilton Illinois area. Richmond F. Green that married Elizabeth was the son of Richmond Green and Sarah Sally Smith. Richmond Green Sr. was brn. 1793 SC. likely in the Greenville area. rivercrossing@comcast.net
ReplyDeleteSarah "Sally" Smith (my 3d great grandmother) was born in 1800 in North Carolina according to both the 1850 & 1860 Censuses. Married Richmond F. Green 11 Jun 1823 in Hamilton County, Illinois according to Illinois Marriages to 1850. My info on him is the same as "anonymous", plus he died before 1860.
